The Golden Circle
The Golden Circle is a loop drive near Reykjavik that traverses varied landscapes and encounters some interesting sights. We started our day at 9:00 when we boarded busses for our trip. There are 58 people on this pre-cruise trip, and there are 2 busses, so it's not very crowded and there is room to stretch out and be comfortable. The temperature was 48 degrees this morning, and didn't get much warmer during the day. We had a lot of sunshine though, and it was generally a very nice day. The Iceland landscape that we enjoyed on our ride consisted of vast lava plains covered with green moss and wild flowers, lakes with clear blue glacial water, geothermal fields with rising steam, and mountains as a backdrop.
